America’s Next Top Model Cycle 1
The cycle 1 of the show premiered with the catch - phrase: “One Girl has what it takes”, 20th May, 2003. The first season of the show had just ten contestants, and it is the only one to have this number. The judges of the first cycle were Beau Quillian, Tyra Banks, Janice Dickinson, Kimora Lee Simmons.
Paris, France was chosen as the international destination to shoot a part of the show. The prizes for the show included, a fashion spread within Marie Claire magazine, a contract for representation with Wilhelmina Models and a campaign contract with Revlon cosmetics.
The first winner of America’s Next Top Model was twenty year old Adrianne Curry from Joliet, Illinois. Later she did claim not to have received all her prizes and even was involved in a bitter fighting with Tyra Banks. Eighteen year old Shannon Stewart, from Franklin, Ohio was the runner up, in this cycle.
